After completing the activity, you will understand the media and their aims to enthuse people and the way in which this enthusiasm is conveyed. You will learn about the impact advertising and the many offers relating to rocket technology had on leisure time. You will also learn about the German space pioneer Walter Hohmann. You will learn to what extent the media manipulated people with regard to prejudices (e.g. cold in space).
