V-2 – the impact in London

This station covers the mental implications of using the retribution weapon against Allied targets and depicts the image the Germans had of V-2 weapons and their use against Allied cities. During World War II, the Germans developed new rockets (V-2 weapons). To demonstrate this, we have made reference to a poem included in our material. Using an image, we have also described the impact of the V-2 weapons in London. The Germans saw V-weapons as superweapons, which would (mainly) force the English to surrender because of their demoralising effect. However, from an English point of view, this psychological effect was seemingly largely absent. To summarise, we can say that these V-weapons fundamentally changed the way we perceive war.
